Restoration and Rejuvenation - Unparalleled expertise in a one-stop-shop

Restoration and Rejuvenation the Bamford Rose way.

With a number of the new era cars, DB7 and Classic Vanquish notably, nearing the end of the ageing process, Bamford Rose is proud to offer a one-stop-shop for restorations and rejuvenation of New Era Aston Martins.

Typically this involves identifying a package of work that has been put on the back burner for years, as none of the items were crucial, and now a few repairs in the same area are needed so that it makes sense to do a rejuvenation.

For example, an underbody rejuvenation: All of the underbody steel components which there are a lot of in DB7 and classic Vanquish (compared to VH era cars) removed, restored and recoated in a durable powder finish. A pragmatically timed large scale package of work efficient to do at once to make good your Aston Martin for the future.

Our service handles paint, trim, bodywork, electrical and mechanical restoration and rejuvenation. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and the car will be returned to you, like new, having been individually signed off by Bamford Rose.

Not just any DB7 i6 but one of the very few Works Special visual and dynamics DB7’s. With a special paint colour, and an upgraded suspension system design (that makes the car handle very well) topped off with AP racing brakes and body kit from Aston Works Service.

The Brief

The DB7 came from Spain and had suffered from the rigours of the climate and the limitations of specialist service in Spain. The hot Spanish sun had damaged the paint, all rubber window trim and the interior. Whilst a car was enjoyed on the Spanish roads the use and time have taken their toll on the bodywork (damaged in a few places) and use and time have taken their toll on normal wear items, but those that we see need replacing on any DB7 of this age.

Our job was to replace anything that might fail within the next 5 years of use in Spain (away from any form of specialist care) and return the DB7 into the visual and mechanical condition to enable reliable use and pride of ownership.

The Works Required

Complete respray as every panel has damage or blemish of some form – as strange as it might sound the respray is the easier and more robust option than individual panel correction. This required removal of all bumpers, windows and both doors. Complete return back to metal, prime and re-spray to Bamford Roses most exacting standards.

After our very detailed inspection the engine was found to be in fine fettle, so nothing more than a comprehensive under bonnet service was required upfront. The gearbox, however, required rebuild because 1st gear rattled badly as did the differential. The special order mag wheels required complete refurbishment. For the brake system, the callipers rebuilding with new seals and refurbished surfaces . The AP racing brake discs and pads also required renewal. The suspension required all four wheel bearings, corner subframe V-Block bushes, damper bushes, wishbone bushes, drop-link bushes, and the trailing arms replacing, entailing a complete rebuild.

Finally, we installed front and rear parking sensors to help protect against contact with high raise Spanish curbs upon return to Spain.
